FREE Bone Marrow Drive

The next FREE bone marrow drive sponsored by Friends of Allison on behalf of Greenbelt resident PJ Siegel will be held on Sunday, April 27, 11:00am-2:00pm, at the Greenbriar Community Building, 7600 Hanover Parkway, Greenbelt. For more information, contact Julia Eichhorst at 301-345-5508 or jules@greenbelt.com.

Getting tested is fast and easy. If you are a healthy adult between the ages of 18–60, a finger stick and the collection of a few drops of blood is all it takes (after you fill out a short health questionnaire/application). Also, if you specifically know anyone who is of Eastern Polish / Russian / Jewish descent who fits the above requirements, please encourage them to consider getting tested. That’s where PJ's doctor feels her best hope lies in finding a matched unrelated donor. For more info on PJ go here.

Also, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Bone Marrow Donor Center will test people of color for FREE anytime because of a special grant and they also will test 25 Caucasian donors per month for free (by appointment). To get tested by NIH you call 301-496-0572. For more info go here.
