WiFi Anyone?

GIAC (Greenbelt Internet Access Cooperative), perhaps better known as GREENBELT.COM, is working to help develop a community-wide WiFi network to link computers within Greenbelt to the Internet using wireless connections. This type of project has already been successfully done elsewhere in both rural and metropolitan areas. Some local households and multi-home areas already have such networks. Businesses such as the New Deal Cafe have been exploring local "hot spots" where people can bring laptops with wireless capability and connect to the Internet on an "ad hoc" basis.

At this point, we will try to coordinate such efforts and offer help as needed. If you have such interest, experience or expertise and wish to participate, please email me at edjames@greenbelt.com.
