Schedule of Events.

All events will take place in the Roosevelt Center parking lots unless otherwise noted. No advance registration is required unless stated. No alcoholic beverages will be sold at the festival. City ordinances prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages in city parks, buildings and in the festival area.

In case of rain, stage events and booth activities will be moved to the community center and the youth center. Carnival rides may close without refunds. This schedule is subject to change without notice. No updates will be posted here during the festival.

Avoid parking problems, Ride the FREE Festival Shuttle. Vans will pick-up at parking locations at Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt Elementary School, Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Green Ridge House & deliver the riders to the Main Stage area. FRIDAY - SEPTEMBER 1, 2006 OPENING NIGHT

Fri. 7-8pm KID'S KICKBALL GAME

Braden Field #2. The future of Greenbelt's Co-Ed Adult Kickball League get their opportunity. All children are welcome to play. Sponsored by Greenbelt Recreation Department.

Council Meeting Room, Municipal Building. Public is invited.

Stage. Opening night of the Miss Greenbelt, Junior, and Little Miss contest. Host: Rich Lee. Sign Language Interpreter on Stage.

Fri. 8pm ADULT KICKBALL GAME

Braden Field #2. "KICK" off your Labor Day weekend with a good old game of kickball. All adults are welcome to play. The under-30 crowd will square off against the over-30 crowd. Sponsored by Greenbelt Recreation Department.

Stage. This world-renowned great blues group returns to the Festival. Don't miss movin' and groovin' to their great tunes. A Festival treat for sure!

Stage. Dancers, violinists, pianist, guitarists, singers, poets, comedians, you-name-it, of all ages put on the show of their lives for their friends and neighbors.

Stage. Talent presentations from Miss Greenbelt, Junior, and Little Miss contestants. Hosts: 2005 Miss Greenbelt Emily Ivy and 2005 Junior Miss Greenbelt Devin Fendlay.

Greenbelt Arts Center. Eleanor Roosevelt High School's improvisational theatre company will perform a 24 hour Improv-A-Thon. Games, scenes, and anything else they can make up on the spot. Wrist bands can be purchased at the door for $10.00 or bought in advance for $7.00 from ERHS theatre students and ALONIZ members.

Crescent Rd. The 52nd Annual Labor Day Parade will entertain you with a variety of groups, demonstrate our community spirit, and accentuate our diverse cultural backgrounds. There will be Floats, Bands, Bagpipes, Firetrucks, Color Guards, Smokey Bear, Community Organizations and the Miss Greenbelt participants. The Grand Marshall is Greenbelt's Outstanding Citizen. Sign language interpreter at the Reviewing Stand across from the Municipal Building. Parade Route: Down Crescent Rd from Greenhill to Centerway. Communications provided by Central Maryland Amateur Radio Club (CMARC).

Stage. This great band, with ex-Monkee Peter Tork, returns to the Festival – Great blues music – straight from Hollywood! A real treat!
