    SATURDAY - SEPTEMBER 1 - KIDS' DAY

    8:00am -
    LAP SWIMMING.     Aquatic Center indoor pool.

    8:30-11:30am -
    KIDS' GAMES.     Braden Field #1 (behind Youth Center). Events scheduled by age group, crawlers to age 12.

    9:00am -
    HORSESHOE TOURNAMENT.     Horseshoe pits (adjacent to Aquatic Center). Singles competition. Richard "Reds" Roland Memorial Tournament.

    9:00am-10:00pm -
    SOFTBALL TOURNAMENT.     Braden Field #2, Schrom Hills Park. Men's slow-pitch. Opening round games of double elimination tournament. Pre-registration required.

    9:30-10:30am -
    CHILDREN'S PET SHOW.     Community Center Lawn. All kinds & sizes of pets. Rain or shine!

    10:00am-8:00pm -
    RECREATIONAL SWIMMING.     Aquatic Center outdoor pool open to the public.

    10:30am -
    CHILDREN'S GAMES OF THE 1940s.     Community Center. 1st floor near Museum Exhibition Room.

    INFORMATION DAY & COMMUNITY EXHIBIT.     Roosevelt Center. Information and display tables by local organizations.

    HAM RADIO STATION.     Community Center Lawn. Central Maryland Amateur Radio Club operators will contact hams from other states and nations. Come to watch or assist.

    12:15-1:30pm -
    BASEBALL CONTEST.     Braden Field #2. Home run derby. Balls provided; bring your own pitcher. 8 pitches or 6 swings. Registration 9:00am-Noon. Entry fee $5.00. Winner receives 40%, runner-up 10%, David Craig Memorial Fund 50%.

    1:00pm -
    GOLF CONTEST.     Braden football field. Closest-to-the-flag competition. Junior, senior, men's & women's categories.

    1:00-2:00pm -
    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.     Stage. Puppeteer "Joe Pipik & His Backpack Puppets". Humorous & entertaining show.

    1:00-6:00pm -
    ART SHOW.     Community Center. Exhibits by Greenbelt artists of all ages.

    PHOTO SHOW.     Community Center. Exhibits of amateur & professional photos.

    2:00pm -
    PIE EATING CONTEST.     Roosevelt Center. 4th annual Celebrity Pie Eating Contest.

    2:00-3:00pm -
    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.     Stage. One-woman circus "The Amazing Lula". See Lula juggle, ropewalk, unicycle and much more.

    3:00-4:00pm -
    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.     Stage. Don Bridges presents music for kids and adults.

    4:00-6:00pm -
    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.     Stage. Contemporary jazz performer Norman Evans.

    6:00-7:15pm -
    TALENT SHOW.     Stage. Dancers, violinists, pianists, guitarists, singers, poets, comedians, you-name-it. Greenbelters of all ages put on the show of their lives for their friends and neighbors.

    7:15-8:30pm -
    MISS GREENBELT PAGEANT.     Stage. Individual talent presentations.

    9:00pm-Midnight -
    LIVE ENTERTAINMENT.     Stage. Rock and roll band "Wayne Brown & 2nd Conspiracy".
