About the Greenbelt Municipal Swim Team

Welcome to the GM Swim Team (GMST). What does GM stand for, you may ask - General Motors? General Mills? Nope. GM is for Greenbelt Municipal.

The Greenbelt Municipal Swim Team has been in existence since 1957 and is a charter member of the Prince-Mont Swim League (PMSL).

GMST is a Division C team in the Prince-Mont Swim League. We swim competitively in the summer season, mid June through the first week of August, at both home and away meets with other PMSL swim teams. GMST also offers Fall and Winter/Spring Swim Programs for their swimmers.

Our Mission:
To promote swimming as a lifelong activity, to help each swimmer achieve their "personal best", and to promote family involvement in the sport.

Our Mascot is the Barracuda,

Our motto: "Don't ask what GM stands for - if you're fast you'd know".
