Summer 2013 Practice Schedule

The summer season practice begins Tuesday May 28st in the indoor pool. Bring your bathing suit every day to practice.

Morning practices in the outdoor pool begin after the end of the school year, June 10th. The practice schedule is as follows:

May 29 - June 7

Swim practice at this time period occurs during normal public pool hours. Please use the main entrance at the Aquatic Center to enter the outdoor pool. Swimmers must sign in at the main desk.

	May 28 - June 6
	Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu
8 & Under	4:25 – 5:25 p.m.
9 - 18	4:55 – 5:55 p.m.

NOTE: There is no Developmental practice May 29 - June 7.

Morning practices begin, JUNE 10

June 10– July 15

Swim practice during these time periods occurs before the pool is open to the public. Therefore use the side gate along the walkway to the Youth Center to enter the outdoor pool. Arrive 15 minutes early so swimmers can be in the water at the start of their designated practice time.

Monday through Friday, age groups:
13 – 18: 6:30– 7:45 a.m.
11 – 12: 6:45 – 8:00 a.m.
9 – 10:   7:30– 8:45 a.m.
8 & under: 7:45 – 8:45 a.m.

Developmental Program begins Monday, June 10
Monday through Thursday: 8:00 – 8:45 a.m.

Note: Please pickup you child after practice at the side gate. The swim team must vacate the pool area by 9:00 and we will not be responsible for children remaining after their practice has ended. In addition, the swim team will not be responsible for delivering swimmers to Greenbelt summer camps after their practice has ended.

GMST and the Aquatic Center

The Greenbelt Swim Team is not affiliated or "part of" the Greenbelt Aquatic Center. During the fall, winter, and spring GMST leases the swim lanes for practices. During the summer, GMST is a "City Sponsored Organization" and thus the swim team has been granted use of the Aquatic Center during designated times. In general, GMST has use of the Aquatic Center before it is open to the public. Along with all other patrons of the Aquatic Center, GMST is bound to adhere to the Center's rules and regulations.

The Aquatic Center Staff would like to remind swimmers and their parents:

• For swim practices held during the week from 4:55 to 5:55 p.m. - all swimmers must sign in at the main desk.


• Rules of the Aquatic Center do apply during swim practices.


• Only swim parents who submit their Aquatic Center membership card may enter the indoor pool and wait during swim practice. And please remember – no shoes allowed.


• After practice please do not wait for your swimmer in the hallway outside the lockers. It creates congestion in that area for all our patrons. Instead, please meet your swimmer in the observation area, lobby area near the main desk or outside.


• When swim practices switch to the morning sessions, all swimmers must enter and leave practice from the side gate not through the main area of the Aquatic Center. If an exception must be granted to you, please make this arrangement with the manager of the Aquatic Center Staff. Her office is near the main desk.


• As Greenbelt's Summer Camps begin use of the pool at 9 a.m. on weekdays all GMST swimmers must be vacated from the pool area by that time.


• After swim meets, please do not come into the indoor pool to swim until you have paid for admission or submitted your membership card at the check-in desk.

Please remember to follow these guidelines while at the pool. GMST is committed to maintaining our good working relationship with the Aquatic Center.
