Registration Requirements for the GM Swim Team Summer Session

• Children registering for the swim team must have had previous swim lessons or swimming experience and be able to swim at least one length of the pool.
  • Children registering for the developmental team, must be between the ages 4 – 7, and have already sucessfully completed swim lessions. To join the developmental team, children should be able to swim 1/2 a pool length (10 yards.)


• PMSL rules stipulate that "Each competitor shall be a bona-fide member of the Pool Club he/she represents during the current season."

Swimmers who are non-Greenbelt residents, must be summer members of the Greenbelt Aquatic Fitness Center. Membership can be purchased for swimmers at the front desk of the Aquatic Center.

• Aquatic Center passes valid 5-26-2012 thru 7-30-2012:
  • Youth (1-13) - $88
  • Young Adult (14-17) - $110

Proof of the swimmer’s membership or residency will be required at registration.

Registration

Register during walk-in registration days or drop your forms off at the pool desk in the "swim team mailbox". Early registration fee applies for all forms received thru May 29th.

* The summer swim program is operated 100% by volunteer power. It takes over 53 volunteers to run a swim meet. The Volunteer Point Fee is assessed every family as an incentive to volunteer. This fee is returned to families who meet their volunteer point requirement. (See the description of volunteer positions and points earned.)

Non-Greenbelt residents, your Aquatic Center membership number is required on the registration form. You may subsitute your receipt number, if you have purchased a membership but have not yet received your membership card.

TWO checks are required for registeration. Make all checks payable to the Greenbelt Swim Team.

1. registration fee - all swimmers can be included on one check
2. volunteer point fee - per family

Please note that your child will not be allowed to swim or compete in any meets until his/her registration forms are complete and fees have been received by the Registrar.

Developmental Program

The Developmental Program is a "feeder program" for GMST's Jr. Team. Participants must be between the ages of 5 and 7 as of May 31st of this current year and have taken and passed a beginners swim program at the pool.

Space in this program is very limited. Registrations will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis. Registrations received after the class has been filled will be put on a waiting list for slot availability.
