Greenbelt Area Tennis Players,

The first GTA Tournament this year is our May 10-18 Membership
Tournament. We'll need your tournament application by Wed May 7 if you
want to be included in the draw.

sign up for tournaments and ladders and how to join GTA for 2008. If
you would like to help with any GTA activities please let us know.

GTA MEMBERSHIP & FEES:
Membership: $10 per person per year 4/1/08-3/31/09.
Tournaments: $5 for members and $10 for nonmembers.
Ladder: free for GTA members and Greenbelt residents, $5 for others

TOURNAMENTS:
Trophies or prizes will go to the winner and runner-up at the
discretion of the steering committee. Let us know if you think winners
and runner-ups should get tennis balls instead of a trophy.  The draws
for tournaments will remain mostly ability-oriented with self-rating
into A, B, C, D, 50+, or 16- levels. 50+ is for players 50 years old
or older. 16- is for boys & girls 16 and under.

MEMBERSHIP & TOURNAMENT APPLICATION
Please send in the form at www.greenbelt.com/tennis with your dues and
entry fee for the Membership Tournament, to be held at Braden Field
Tennis Courts on May 10-18, no later than Wed May 7. Please reply to
this email or sign up at www.greenbelt.com/tennis in case we don't get
the form by Wed May 7. We plan to start working on the Draws on
Thursday May 8 afternoon.

LADDER
The tennis ladder season runs from April 1 through September 30.
Ladder play is FREE for GTA members and Greenbelt residents.
Non-members and non-residents pay $5. The list of players and rules
are posted at www.greenbelt.com/tennis. To get started, simply use the
website ladder list to challenge somebody and play a match. There is
an end of the season ladder tournament for everybody that plays at
least one ladder match.
